BCS Strengthens itself meetings tourism

“The meetings tourism is a profitable market for the tourist industry in Baja California Sur and in our country as well, generating thousands of jobs and an increase in the staying of travelers and with it the economic spill,” said the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (SETUES) Luis Humberto Araiza López, during his participation in the World Meetings Forum 2018, held in Los Cabos. In this event that brings together global leaders in this area, the official stressed that the entity is ready to meet the needs and requirements presented by this segment in its four modalities (congresses and conventions, meetings, incentive trips and exhibitions).

He also highlighted the implementation of the International Convention Centers in La Paz and Los Cabos, as well as the strengthening and growth that the hotel sector presents, when mentioning that currently in BCS, nearly five thousand hotel rooms are built. In this regard, he endorsed the commitment of the State Government to work hand in hand with the State and Municipal Tourism Trusts in order to strengthen the promotion of BCS destinations both nationally and internationally.

Finally, Luis Araiza said he is pleased that Los Cabos has been the headquarters for the WMF, a space which allows approchements to establish commercial alliances with the main suppliers and professional organizers of the MICE sector, in order to consolidate the State within this market as well as the exchange of experiences.
